Detecting Maritime GPS Spoofing Attacks Based on NMEA Sentence Integrity Monitoring

چکیده
Today’s maritime transportation relies on global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs) for accurate navigation. The high-precision GNSS receivers board modern vessels are often considered trustworthy. However, due to technological advances and malicious activities, this assumption is no longer always true. Numerous incidents of tampered signals have been reported. Furthermore, researchers demonstrated that manipulations can be carried out even with inexpensive hardware little expert knowledge, lowering the barrier attacks far-reaching consequences. Hence, exclusive trust in misplaced, methods reliable detection urgently needed. many proposed solutions require expensive replacement existing hardware. In paper, therefore, we present MAritime Nmea-based Anomaly (MANA), a novel low-cost framework GPS spoofing detection. MANA monitors NMEA-0183 data advantageously combines several software-based methods. Using simulations supported by real-world experiments generate an extensive dataset, investigate our approach finally evaluate its effectiveness.

Detecting Access Point Spoofing Attacks Using Partitioning-based Clustering
The impersonation of wireless Access Point (AP) poses an unprecedented number of threats that can compromise a wireless client’s identity, personal data, and network integrity. The AP impersonation attack is conducted by establishing rogue AP with spoofed Service Set Identifier (SSID) and MAC address same as the target legitimate AP. Since these identities can be easily forged, there is no iden...
متن کاملUsing Deep Learning for Detecting Spoofing Attacks on Speech Signals
It is well known that speaker verification systems are subject to spoofing attacks. The Automatic Speaker Verification Spoofing and Countermeasures Challenge – ASVSpoof2015 – provides a standard spoofing database, containing attacks based on synthetic speech, along with a protocol for experiments. This paper describes CPqD’s systems submitted to the ASVSpoof2015 Challenge, based on deep neural ...

متن کاملImproving Cross Ambiguity Function Using Image Processing Approach to Detect GPS Spoofing Attacks
The Global Positioning System (GPS) is vulnerable to various deliberate and unintentional interferences. Therefore, identifying and coping with various interferences in this system is essential. This paper analyzes a method of reducing the dimensions of Cross Ambiguity Function (CAF) images in improving the identification of spoofing interference at the GPS using Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural N...
متن کاملCrowd-GPS-Sec: Leveraging Crowdsourcing to Detect and Localize GPS Spoofing Attacks
The aviation industry’s increasing reliance on GPS to facilitate navigation and air traffic monitoring opens new attack vectors with the purpose of hijacking UAVs or interfering with air safety. We propose Crowd-GPS-Sec to detect and localize GPS spoofing attacks on moving airborne targets such as UAVs or commercial airliners. Unlike previous attempts to secure GPS, Crowd-GPS-Sec neither requir...
